Chugai Co., Ltd., (hereinafter referred to as “Chugai”) declares that it will promote the protection of personal information by establishing the following Privacy Policy, building a system for protecting personal information, and ensuring that all employees recognize the importance of protecting personal information and take appropriate measures.

Article 1: Acquisition and Use of Personal Information

Chugai will acquire personal information only after clarifying the purpose of use and will use personal information only within the scope of said purpose. The purpose of use shall be clearly stated in the personal information management ledger, and a confirmation procedure shall be established and implemented to ensure that personal information is not used in a manner that deviates from the purpose of use under the responsibility of the departmental personal information manager in each department that handles personal information.  In addition, Chugai will develop an internal management system and take security control measures to ensure that personal information is not used beyond the scope of the purposes of use.

Article 2: Management and Protection of Personal Information

Chugai will manage personal information strictly and will not disclose or provide personal information to any third party without the consent of the individual concerned. Additionally, Chugai will establish and implement safety control measures to prevent the leak, loss, or damage of personal information. Chugai will also establish and implement procedures to prevent issues from arising in advance, and, if issues should occur, Chugai will promptly take corrective measures to prevent recurrence.

Article 3: Compliance with Laws, Regulations and Standards

Chugai will comply with all applicable laws, regulations, national guidelines, and other norms regarding the handling of personal information in its possession.

Article 4: Handling of Inquiries and Complaints

Chugai will establish a system and procedures for receiving and responding to inquiries and complaints about personal information in its possession, and will respond promptly to such inquiries and complaints.

Article 5: Continuous Improvement of Personal Information Protection Management Systems and Structures

Chugai will continuously improve its management systems and structures for the protection of personal information.
